Personality Somali cats like to be around people. They are alert and lively and constantly involved in their human’s activities. If you want a cat that goes off and leaves you alone, Somali cats are not for you! They have a naturally happy disposition, much like most dogs. Given the opportunity, many of them will lick your face and learn to retrieve toys and play other games. Somalis are intelligent, learn quickly, remember remarkably well, and stay playful throughout adulthood. They crave attention and want to stay near their human companions at all times, soliciting nuzzles and pats. They integrate readily with other animals, but since they are so outgoing, they tend to want to “run the show.” This usually isn’t much of a problem since their leadership soon brings out the playful nature of their companions as well. |
